About Kevin
Hi, I’m Kevin Shepard, a curriculum designer, educator, and storyteller.
With over four years of experience in instructional design and more than a decade in education, I’ve created engaging, student-centered learning experiences across K–12 and higher ed. I specialize in building inclusive, accessible, and impactful online learning environments. Currently, I work as an instructional designer at Naropa University, teach Financial Literacy to undergraduates, and am pursuing my Doctorate in Education from the University of Wyoming, focusing on Learning, Design & Technology.
But that’s only half the story.
I grew up in New Jersey and now live in the mountains of Colorado, where I’ve carved a path that blends education with adventure. I’ve taught outdoor expeditions, worked as a whitewater rafting guide, summited mountains across the Rockies, and once lived with an Indigenous Maasai community while studying global conservation in Tanzania. I’ve backpacked through Southeast Asia, rafted glacial rivers in Alaska, and still find time to chase rivers, trails, and new perspectives wherever I go.
I bring that same spirit of exploration into my work, whether it’s designing a course, collaborating with faculty, or mentoring learners on their journeys. Learning should feel alive, relevant, and empowering—and that’s the energy I try to infuse into every project.
